KS4 Food Technology

 

 

 

Students who opt to take GCSE Design and Technology Food Technology at Key Stage 4 do so for 3 consecutive years.  The students are assessed through a 60% Controlled Assessment Task and a 40% final Examination.  During Year 9 they cover a foundation course of practical food preparation and theoretical concepts. During the latter 2 years the students continue to expand their subject specific knowledge and practical skills with particular focus on the assessed aspects of their GCSE course.  The department’s staff provide facilities and support both at lunchtime and after school during the completion of the major Controlled Assessment Task.
